Chicksands (aka Rowney Warren)
Directions from Brookmans Park:

Head Northbound up the A1(M). At the end of the motorway (junction 10), turn left onto the A507. Follow this past Stotfold and Arlesey Station. Keep going for around 7 miles to Shefford, where you need to turn on to the A600 towards Bedford. Look out for the woodland on the left hand side (do not turn left to Chicksands where indicated!). Keep going until you have passed the entire wood, then turn left towards Haynes (see photo below). Park on the side of the road just after you have turned.

location of turning to Haynes

The easiest way to find the cycling area is to walk back round on to the main road, and walk down the access lane (shown at the front of the picture above opposite the bus stop - normally has a gate across it) which goes downhill in to the woods. About half way down, look out for the cycling area signs on the left hand side. That is the entrance to the 'freeride' area, where we normally leave bags etc for the day. James will either be there or very nearby, however phone his mobile if you cannot locate him.

Link to location map (The access point is at the far north of the woodland called 'Rowney Warren')

If traffic is good, journey time is around 40-50 minutes.
